What it means to be a YEA Board Member:

What we're looking for:

We welcome individuals from all backgrounds who are:

Passionate about youth development and education equity
Ready to serve and support a Black-led nonprofit
Committed to helping expand YEA’s reach, resources, and impact
Skilled in any of the following areas: fundraising, finance, education, marketing/communications, legal, nonprofit leadership, youth work, DEI, policy advocacy

No prior board experience required—just dedication, integrity, and a belief in our mission.

Board Member Commitments

YEA board members are asked to:

Serve a 2-year term (renewable)
Attend monthly board meetings (virtual or in-person)
Participate on at least one committee or working group
Make a personally meaningful financial contribution
Actively support YEA’s fundraising and outreach efforts
Represent YEA positively in the community
